Kathy Purnell, Staff Attorney
Kathy has over two decades of combined experience as an attorney, professor, and nonprofit administrator. Her legal experience has been developed through many organizations including Legal Aid of Western Michigan, The National Immigrant Justice Center, and as a Sullivan Human Rights Fellow of the International Human Rights Law Institute. She currently serves on the Michigan State Bar’s Bar Journal Committee, and had served on the advisory board for the Journal of College and University Law.

Coral Cervantes, Legal Assistant
Coral has a background in community-based organizing and political activism surrounding the issues of immigration and human rights. As an undergraduate, she studied psychology and religion at Kalamazoo College. She is presently enrolled in the Comparative Religion M.A. program and Spirituality, Health, and Culture certificate program at Western Michigan University. Currently, her research focuses on faith- based organizations that provide immigration legal services to immigrant and refugee communities in Southwest Michigan.
