Marcelo Betti TC.JPG

Marcelo N. Betti, Staff Attorney

Marcelo has been practicing immigration law in northern Michigan since 2013. He is a graduate of Vermont Law School and is admitted to practice in the State of Michigan. Previously, he attended and graduated from Grand Valley State University and Northwestern Michigan College. He is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, and regularly conducts presentations on the topic of immigration.

“I went to law school so that I could help people, and immigrants are among the most vulnerable members of our society. Access to affordable legal services is a problem in our country, and I am glad that JFON is part of the solution.’

Sue Norkowski, DOJ Accredited Representative

Susan has been working with immigration issues since 1994. She is semi-retired, and has been working part-time for JFON since 2015. She previously served as a Congressional Caseworker for a member of the U.S. House of Representatives 1994 – 2011, assisting individuals in resolving problems encountered with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service, and US State Department. She is a member of Central United Methodist Church Traverse City.

“I had a front row seat to the impact that laws have on the general public. Family-based and humanitarian cases have always been my favorite to work on, as I feel I am making a direct impact into the lives of our clients, and their families.’

Alline Beutler TC.JPG

Alline Beutler, Site Manager

After a career in early childhood education and Christian education that spanned more than 2 decades, Alline made a professional shift and began working for JFON in the spring of 2018. The desire to be a part of an organization that provides assistance to the most vulnerable immigrants in our community came after watching her sister-in-law from China and brother unsuccessfully navigate the immigration system in the US without the help of an immigration attorney after they were married.

“Everyone in our community benefits when people who are in vulnerable situations have the life-changing opportunity for security and are able to fully participate in our society.’
